AMG Specialty Hospital – Las Vegas is seeking a Full-Time Quality & Infection Control Nurse (RN) who will work in Quality/Infection Prevention for 28 hours weekly, and work (1) 12-hour RN shift weekly. The Quality/Infection Control Coordinator is a qualified individual with knowledge of CDC guidelines and definitions of healthcare associated infections (HAIs), federal and state regulations. He/She is responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention and control of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) among patients and personnel. By authority of the Infection Control Committee, she/he may institute collection of cultures and initiate appropriate isolation precautions. She/He is responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control. Concerning Employee Health, he/she is responsible for attending to all employee work related injuries and recommending appropriate action, as well as communicating with the risk manager any trends in the workplace. He/she is also responsible for pre-employment medical screening tests, as well as annual recurring screens. Also, he/she serves as a liaison to the worker’s compensation carrier for our facility. He/she is responsible for development and implementation of the hospital’s Utilization Review plan. As an RN, she/he will provide direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting. Communicate with physicians/CCO/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

- Current RN licensure in state of employment
- Minimum three (3) year experience in a supervisory position in healthcare or one (1) to three (3) years in infection control
- Member of the Association of Practitioners of Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred
- Working knowledge of microbiology, Epidemiology, infectious diseases, aseptic techniques and current practices
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS certification
- A minimum of one-year experience in utilization review
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge
